What Is Match-Trader?

Match-Trader is a trading platform developed as a MetaTrader alternative following MetaQuotes’s tightened licensing in 2022. It runs in a browser or native app, integrates TradingView charting directly, and is designed specifically for the retail and prop trading market. Several newer prop firms adopted it when MT4/MT5 became harder to license.

Advantages for Prop Traders

The integrated TradingView charting means you get the charting tool most traders already use, directly inside the execution platform. The web-first design works on any device without installation. The order management interface is generally regarded as cleaner than MT4’s, particularly for traders managing multiple positions.

Disadvantages vs. MetaTrader

Match-Trader’s EA ecosystem is essentially empty compared to MT4’s thousands of available automated strategies. If you run any kind of automation, Match-Trader is currently not the right platform. The community and third-party tool support is also significantly smaller — fewer indicators, fewer copy-trading integrations, fewer data feeds.

The Right Trader for Match-Trader

Discretionary traders who use TradingView for analysis and want a clean execution interface. Traders who prefer web-based trading over desktop installation. Anyone who doesn’t rely on MT4/MT5 EAs or the broader MetaTrader ecosystem. If your workflow is built around MetaTrader tooling, Match-Trader is a step backward despite its interface advantages.
